Conan O'Brien made this guy into a household name and then he decided to join Bruce Springstein and say fuck you, Conan. He got a big head and started thinking he was something special. The whole joke (and this was part of the genius of Conan's show) was that he was the antithesis of the normal late night band leader. Max Weinberg, and the Max Weinberg 7! Conan would make a joke and then go over to Max, like Dave would go to Paul, but Max would just have a blank look on his face and the awkwardness was what made it funny.
