Finished my engineering degree but I've found this for the time being:

Courtesy bus driver for a local dealership + service center.

Permanent full time: 7am to 4pm, 4 days a week (one weekday off)

$20 an hour

Job description: Literally drive customers from the service center to the train station and back. Includes the occasional pickup at the dealership.

One set route. No thinking involved, just safe driving practices.

Pays better than an Uber driver, has more job security, and employee protections (sick leave/annual leave/etc).

Sure. It's a dank job, but it is a pretty good dank job to tie me over. Plus I get one day a week to do interviews .

i heard bus driving is a great job (ignoring pay and career advancement) so long as its not a school bus. i'd say go for it
lots of time to relax and think to yourself, nothing hectic or stressful unless you suffer road rage easily

Sounds sweet. You should come up with a gimmick. All the best courtesy drivers have a gimmick.

Eh, sounds totally fine as a job to do whilst you pursue something in your actual field. My only concern would be how much physical exercise I was getting in a job like that if you're just sitting there for hours and hours.

Hell. After 6 months at my job doing security 34 hours a week and mostly just sitting on my ass half the shift, doing patrols or paperwork the other half, I'm earning as much as I was at a full time job in the insurance field. And that job had me busting my ass from about the moment I clocked in til it was time for my late lunch, and then from the moment I got back on until it was time to sign out at 4:55 so I could wait in the massive line and clock out at exactly 5:00 because being even a minute late was subject to penalty.

There tends to be several minutes of downtime even if they drop off a group and wait for another one to immediately climb in.
