I own it, but I didn't play it until a year or two ago. Seemed like DW3 improved on everything about it.

there's quite a few on ps3 (they have empires and regular). only played DW6 empires as my start to the series.

would try 7 but it is more of a time commitment on both sides (empires and the original) i would actually have to count it as the RPG. think it takes 70 hours to plat (average).

I remember it as having the best story mode of the series. Each character had their own unique story instead of just following Shu/Wu/Wei.

I only used to play that at my friend's house, but I remember really disliking the officer duels and the weapon progression. Seemed okay other than that.

Yeah 3 improved everything that 2 started. I think 2 had bigger maps though.

DW5 is hands down the best. There were enough unique movesets, lots of characters, difficulty was pretty good and story mode was great.

Kind of surprised 8 is so well-liked. I played it a bit on Vita, but I wasn't very fond of the story mode structure and I really disliked the "rock paper scissors" weapon system.

I liked it well enough. It wasn't that disruptive, and was a good way of getting your rage and musou up quickly so you could then rack up a bunch of hits, activate rage, and then cut through the rest of the encounter.

When I was leveling up, I'd just assign each of the three characters one of the three weapon types and switch to whatever gave me advantage.

Probably gonna go with DW5 for the replay. Been wanting brush up on my Three Kingdoms history for a while now and DW5 seems like it has the most accurate character representations and storylines.

I did pop in DW3 earlier to play a stage and it reminded me how badass the music was in that game... and also how laughably terrible the voice acting was.
