VC ports like RBY tend to have bugs left in even if they add things like wireless trading. However, things like Wind Waker HD and OoT 3D do have bug fixes. I feel like SSBM HD would likely have bug fixes as well. There are some useful bug fixes like making the Home Run Contest stage longer so the game doesn't freeze. But I think Wavedashing is definitely gone if they try to fix things.

WWHD and OoT3D were both built from the ground up as remasters, I wouldn't expect anything like that of a Melee port and I don't think anyone wants it. People want Melee and Smash 4 ports, or Smash 5.

Gamebreaking fixes are one thing, but anything optional would be ignored.

btw seriously need Smash 4 Deluxe so they can merge 3DS & Wii U content into one version

If it is just a straight VC style port, I think they will leave things alone. That's pretty much just like their RBY VC release where they even left in major glitches. But a straight port won't be in HD and will still use a 4:3 aspect ratio. While I don't think people will be completely unhappy with that, I think they want a bit more. Keep in mind that RBY and GS on VC don't have online battling and online is definitely a feature people want added to SSBM. When features like that start getting added, it becomes a real remake like WW and OoT 3D and Nintendo has shown that they will fix (and add) a few bugs in these cases.

I really hope a Smash is coming soon. It's only been 3 years though, which is statistically half the time between games. I don't want it to slow down a Smash 5...but I really want to see some new Smash content...

I'll miss friends playing my 100+ Custom Stages on Smash 4 though :(
