Why haven't they done that before? im no flash expert but im guessing time is pretty much stopped when he's moving, so he could just stop, have a good staring contest with the wire, step over it carefully, and still be moving faster than light from hypothetical enemies perspective. Granted that time is stopped when he's moving, he would still need to see it before he comes barreling in the room at FTL speed. I think it would be pretty hard to notice that even running at a normal human's speed. His brain processes at that speed as well. Otherwise he'd have gone SPLAT against a wall even at sublight speed. Didn't you read that attosecond bit posted earlier? Flash is an incredibly broken character But even when humans run as fast as they can, they don't run into walls because they're able to react. They wouldn't be able to see a thin piece of wire at their feet. I assume Flash has the same kind of reaction a human does except traveling much further, much faster.
