Damn good episode. Lots of suspense and build-up to the battle.

However, the idea of Twizzlers/Red Vines still being edible years after the apocalypse was a sort of immersion-breaker, even with the amount of preservatives in them and even if they were in an air-tight container. Lolno.

Still, glad that the "old man Rick scenes" were just future glimpses and not of him just waking up from his pre-apocalypse coma with the whole apocalypse being a bad dream, like some people were theorizing.

Mixed feelings

Really glad they cut to the chase and went straight to a raid instead of wasting half the season building up to it.

But

There's nothing they havent done before
- An out of sequence episode
- Another well thought out plan that went wrong towards the end
- Walker mass hoard season opener

The Old man Rick part was a downer.. people lost their **** when they saw this during Comic Con. For it to be wasted as some hallucination/day dream seems like a shame

It also was the 100th episode and should've been a little more than a obscure throwback to the first season

and... where'd they get all that ammo + guns from? Last I recall, Negan had like 95% of the Survivors arms..

We'll see where this season goes, just hope its more than a 16 episode ******* contest between Saviors and everyone else

I get what your saying but this also applies to lots of things like the gas they're using. After all this time none of it would be any good.

As for the show itself I want to know what happened to all of Negans men. I mean during that fight it didn't seem like Rick group was getting much return fire. Also dose anyone really think some aluminum siding is gonna stop a bullet? I mean yeah sure it blocks eyesight but won't stop machine gun fire.

Maybe I stopped paying attention for a minute or did they just walk away from the Negan people or did they teleport somewhere else or what the actual fuck happened

I was thinking the same, used to control and direct the flow of walkers

Could be wrong thou since they werent around when the hoard showed up.. but you can't be too careful

It looked like they were using the siding to funnel the zombies in but in the end it just seemed more for cover since they drove away after luring the hoard in.

The rv blew a hole in the front of the compound so the zombies could in theory get in and finish them off. Not sure what the deal with shooting out every window was with negan right there. Dwight being their inside man maybe said something about posts but it looked like they had no return fire until Gabriel stopped to go back.

That's the first thing I thought but they didn't actually use them to herd the zombies. Which is why I was confused by it.
