TheAnthraxBunny 10/21/17 9:26:57 PM #13:	Southeast Michigan has lots of nice cities/towns scattered about (the nicer ones can be a bit snobby though), the upper peninsula and along the coast of Lake Michigan are beautiful, mackinaw island is really cool, and theres nice lakefront areas everywhere (theres lots of lakes inland too). Its easily within the top 10 states. I know we have cities like Detroit and Flint (more Flint than Detroit) that bring down the overall quality of the state, but theres other cities (Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, to name a few) that are great and more than make up for it. --- Syrobonkus! <cite>TheAnthraxBunny posted [p:888880037] in Rate the S... A lot of people who don't live near Mt. Clemens act like it's as unsafe as Detroit and that couldn't be any more wrong. It's mostly just old people who live down there. And there's a lot of nice bars and food. It's definitely not a tourist destination but it's a nice place to hang out if you're a local and don't feel like driving all the way out to Royal Oak or Rochester. A lot of people who don't live near Mt. Clemens act like it's as unsafe as Detroit and that couldn't be any more wrong. It's mostly just old people who live down there. And there's a lot of nice bars and food. It's definitely not a tourist destination but it's a nice place to hang out if you're a local and don't feel like driving all the way out to Royal Oak or Rochester.

Also Traverse city is great and Port Huron is nice. I'm not sure what your gripe could be about either of them.
