CiIantro 10/21/17 12:37:23 AM #1:	They believe that black people are descended from a guy who killed one of god's favorite disciples. As punishment for his sin, god turned his and all his descendant's skin black so that the world would know of his atrocity. Because of this, black people are viewed as unclean and were banned from holding leadership positions in the church until long after the rest of the country had integrated. The official church position was that god eventually changed his mind and let them have leadership roles, but the prevailing consensus was that they did it for political/image reasons. Needless to say, there is a reason you never see black mormons. BONUS FACT: Brigham Young was known to be an extreme racist. He went on the record multiple times condemning interracial marriage and stating that those involved in mixed-race relationships should be put to death.
