Aww man... Just played a demo alto sax at a local music shop. I have decided. I'm gonna do it. I've got to build my chops back up, though. When I was in high school, I'd be practicing for hours on 5 strength reeds. I could only stand to play for about 20 minutes on a 3 1/2 strength... I guess that's to be expected, though, since I haven't played in about 12 years.

I played alto in middle school band. I didn't want to do that in high school so I sold it. It was at a time where I was really big into guitar. I really regret it now and wish I kept at it. Maybe someday I will get another one.

So I walk into this folk music store looking for bridge pins for me guitar right?? andd they had a SHIT ton of just. weird. ASS. instruments. and so I curiously ask the qt girl working there to play this weird looking... three stringed instrument looking thing (she said the name of it, but whatever) and she plays it for a second and then I decide it's MY turn (because she was hogging it) and she started superrr blushing because I was copying what she was doing. anyWAY. I think I have re-sparked my passion for music today, and it feels great. Alto sax is such a fun instrument to play. I see a lot of hours in my near future just playing stuff.

A new saxophone would be about $3000... My old sax doesn't have a high F# key...
