PS2 version is far better.

They used some kind of late beta build for the HD version, not the finished product and it show. Less textures, less background details, less fog (which is crazy important), worse voices and glitch heaven.

My favorite one was a glitch where James' footstep sound effect fucked up and instead of making footstep sounds, every time he moved it made loud obnoxious metal clanging noises. Which made walking down a corridor sound like a parade of tanks plummeting off a cliff.

If you have the option, get the PS2 one. It's literally superior

the HD remaster team had difficulties, like konami didnt give them the master copy of the final version of the original games and what they got are the copies full of bugs and the had to do the debugging themselves. That's why the HD remaster are full of bugs that wasnt found in the PS2 games.
basically, konami being shitty as usual.

If you have a CRT tv then try to track down the originals, otherwise the HD collection is probably going to look better on your screen. Just make sure you crank up the brightness.

The PC ports can be modded to look pretty nice as well but those are pretty hard to track down.
