they want to make they extra cash by being stellar.

Why should they not strive to be stellar just because I am a paying customer period?

because money motivates people.

If you can earn more through better service you will likely work harder.

You're trolling by this point dude.

So you're saying that me paying the full price of a haircut to a person who makes at least minimum wage, a wage funded by my visit, is not worth that person's full effort?

what's the point of paying the barber to shampoo and style your hair? Don't you immediately shower when you get home anyways to wash the loose hair out? And even if you don't don't you shower the next day anyway?

I've never done it myself, but I assume the shampooing at a barbers/hairdressers is done to get rid of the loose hair.

Where the hell are you guys going to where a haircut costs $8 from a barber? Average price here is $30 even in the bad neighborhoods

No I'm not.

Face the facts we don't live in a perfect fucking utopia where everyone loves their job.

We are humans and are motivated in a lot of different ways but one of the best motivators we know is MONEY.

People like money and a system where extra hard work could equal more money means some people try harder or put more effort in.

Serious you must be trolling how hard of a concept is this?

I mean my barber is 23 and depending on the time of year I give him 25-30.

But places like supercuts and other chain places that leave your hair looking funky are around 12.

I haven't stepped into a Supercuts since I was a preteen probably. Lowest I'd go is Sportsclips and even then it's around $25. If I was paying $8 for a haircut I'd give them a solid $20.

I still tip well though regardless

It's not about loving your job. Most people don't. Who gives a fuck about that where this topic is concerned? And they are already getting MONEY from me. But it's all "if you don't pay me EXTRA I won't do my best."

I just don't like it cause when I start going to a new barber, I'm not sure how much to tip.

My whole issue when tipping in general is this whole middle ground in regards to payment. It's not something I even want to think about. I just want to be given a price to pay them

I give the two shops I switch between a $3 tip usually since my cut is usually $15, so I figure that would be the safe amount.

Good Lord.....that seems like an excessive amount to tip considering the cut only cost $8.

I typically go to Great Clips because I hate getting my hair cut and just want to get it over with. Usually costs $10 with a coupon and I tip $5. I guess I'm considered a heathen.
