Blue was my first Pokemon game and I have nothing but love and great memories of it as a child but that game is total ass compared to today's Pokemon games.

Most "Genwunners" probably haven't played the game since they were a child and only use their nostalgia to ride that game.

I played Gen 1 during the 1st Generation, it's true. The internet much later introduced me to not only the term 'genwunner,' but even the fact that some people actually think Gen 1 is the gold standard for Pogeymanz.

"genwunner" is a derogatory term for people who think anything other than Pokemon R/B/Y (Gen 1 of pokemon) sucks, usually because of the pokemon designs.

While they have a point that newer games have some poor designs, Gen 1 also had poor designs, and a bunch of bugs that were stupid, and poor game balance.

I played Yellow, and I think Gen 3 was the best, I also really liked X/Y.

I never played the Gen 1 games or even the remakes for that matter. But the Pokemon of that generation will always be the most memorable to me due to various things. Still doesn't excuse Game Freak's overly favorable treatment of Gen 1 Pokemon.
