I guess it comes down to a question. Does attention convince more people to be white supremacists or does controversy make white supremacists more vocal? No shit there are less overall white supremacists. We are still progressing as a society. All I'm saying is that they still exist and it is not anyone else's fault if they get vocal or grow in numbers. White supremacy has been ebbing and flowing in numbers and activism forever. Do you think it is coincidence they get brave when they feel WASP culture is threatened? This is not the first time they've made a comeback.

I would love some evidence of this alleged "comeback"

Are you suggesting that white supremacists haven't been marching until Obama?

Nah. I had more people than that at my apartment last night. This isn't news, much as you'd like it to be because it fits your narrative.

On the other hand, when someone makes the weekly Chicago crime topic tomorrow that shows another 20-30 people were shot, you'll ask why that's newsworthy. And then probably call them racist.

You said if we ignore them, then will go away. To me that sounds like we are causing them to be vocal, or come back into the public eye. I challenge that and say them being hateful shitbags and once again fearing the decline of their white culture is why. White supremacists will always exist whether or not we ignore them because they will always eventually find some social movement that they will feel compelled to respond to.

You really don't understand why unusual occurrence are seen as more newsworthy than regular ones? I honestly have more faith in you than to believe that is true. And wait, Frisbee is both ambivalent to Chicago crime AND thinks it's racist to bring it up? That doesn't seem to make much sense

What's unusual here? That 30 people are racist? If anything, this should be lauded as amazing news about how small the support for Spencer-type neo-Nazism is. It's guys like you and Frisbee who think this nonsense is actually a major threat.

It isn't a major threat, but I absolutely am more interested to hear about a Nazi rally on the same place where someone was just killed in a terrorist attack than to hear about a typical weekend in a major city. And I hate to break it to you, but apparently I'm less of a SJW liberal than you are since I actually do find Richard Spencer types and Nazi types to be unusual. I'm sorry you think everyone is racist.

I just find it funny that the same people shrugging about white supremacists are big supporters of our President getting his nuts in a twist over a few people kneeling at anthems or an individual mocking him.

It isn't "nothing," it's something that tens of millions of Americans are talking about. A smart person will see that and react to it. It's been a national story for a while now.

Meanwhile, this dinner party-sized gathering of Spencer and the neo-Nazis is only interesting to people like you and Frisbee whose hobby is blaming all America's problems on white supremacy and racism. No reason he should be addressing what 30 non-violent racists are doing on their Sunday.

So because more people are watching, a lesser threat to our country takes priority over the other?

People kneeling during the anthem on national TV deserves non stop tweets and "fire the SOBs," yet alt right rallies twice in the same location have garnered, what, 2 half hearted tweets (that were completely negated by his press conference rant where he blamed the alt left and said there were good people there...)

That isn't what he said. There were many people where in Charlottesville to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue, which was the stated purpose of the rally. I know all that the media did was focus on the white supremacists with the torches, but that wasn't the entirety of the crowd there. If you actually listen to Trump's entire speech, and not just the half sentence sound bite that everyone repeats, this is pretty obviously who he was referring to.

Do you hold the same judgment for all the BLM members who stood by when fellow marchers chanted "pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon!" ?

This line of thinking is asinine. I hold people responsible for their own actions, not the actions of strangers around them due to proximity. If someone went there to protest the statue, they have no obligation to leave just because racist idiots showed up.

The rally was organized by Kessler, a known white nationalist. They knew what they were signing up for and what views the majority of the attendees had. They knew this before they grabbed their tiki torches and went out there.

That is far different than organizing an event and having some rogue assholes show up.

We all know Admiral would show the same discretion if some especially bad BLM chapters set up a rally to champion black supremacy and a few people honestly showed up to protest police brutality. He would totally pretend the majority of protesters simultaneously planned to go to the rally, but failed to research what it was about, and that the bad people were actually just a small, but loud group of hijackers.

Did I say muslim terrorists? You'd get outraged if you read a story about some woman refusing to remove her burkha in a court or some shopkeeper refusing to sell alcohol.

And while I agree with you on both counts its funny how you're outwardly calling to action on those kinds of cases but putting your hands up here.

Not even mentioning your comments about the NFL kneelers. Where was your "it's just a couple of idiots, ignore them" attitude then?

Because nobody is watching these morons. People do watch the morons who hijack a football game to protest made up crap.

Equating people peacefully protesting with a neo Nazi march is pathetic in general

Just explaining why more people care about having an agenda shoved down their throats in an nfl game than a puny match.

Besides the protesters ruining any chance of ever having careers, what happens if you just... let them have their little march?

These groups specifically have said they wanted to lower the amount of people and try to make it so these "marches" won't have protesters so they become the norm. And I don't know about you but I don't want to allow neo nazi marches to become a common thing occurring that becomes normalized.

But hey, that's just me

Its humiliating and career/reputation destroying to be seen at these. What else should be done? There will always be nolifes with nothing else to lose.

I'll stop talking about them when calling for a white ethnostate or a "peaceful separation of races" stops being a talking point on places like Breitbart
