You aren't able to choose. It's pretty linear once the mine cart section starts.

Well, another "water room" section. How conceited is that Salazar guy to build a giant statue of himself.

Giant moving statue that can crush me? Ha. I feel like this game has completely desensitized me to the violence. There's nothing it can throw at me anymore that will scare me, I guarantee it.

Son of a bitch barrel roll just killed me. I mean a literal barrel rolled down a flight of stairs and exploded in my face. Let's see if I can snipe the guy from the bottom.

More enemies coming from downstairs. Hah now I'm in charge of the barrel dropping lever! Revenge!

Oh... Oh my god. Oh my god. I'm finally fighting Salazar, and he's a monster, in a giant Las Plagas shell thing. Just monsters... well after this there'll be one less monster I have to worry about.

That was... lolol. So there's this giant eye on a tentacle thing right, and I shoot it and then Salazar emerges from a cocoon in a typically grotesque form. On a whim I decided to take out my rocket launcher, aimed, and... BOOM. He died just like that. I was like wait what, thinking it was a trick. But he dropped pesetas and everything.

Lol that was quick and easy, I was taken aback. Even the Alien looking monster didn't die with the rpg, and yet Salazar dies. Speaking of I realized that's the right hand man he was talking about! Salazar always has 2 bodyguards with him when he walks around, with inverse colored robes red and black. As terrifying as that fight was I'm sad we don't get to fight the other bodyguard, he just kinda merges with the giant Plagas thing attached to the wall. Was hoping to fight him individually and get more money.

Still... holy crap you guys I beat Salazar!

I can't believe this moment is finally here. Collecting treasures like crazy here. Using up my rocket launcher has freed up a lot of space, which is a good thing too since there's enough weapons here to fight a small army.

Also made a separate save file right before the Salazar fight so that I can see what different ways I can fight him without using the rocket launcher.

Also was anyone else annoyed that a snake was hiding in a barrel? They usually hide in the boxes so I was completely unprepared and it just sprang out at me. Did the same thing happen to everyone else their first time through? Only got a white chicken egg as well... meh just used it up instantly.

It's Ada! I just realized that we haven't seen her since she revealed herself, where was she all this time.

Welp I'm heading to this island that they took Ashley to. Man it's been a crazy ride, where are they gonna take me after I finish with this section.

The second time you meet the Chief of the village, when he tries to choke you out, if you go back in through the door he went in there is another cutscene and that is the actual first time you see Ada in the game. But I had gone through several play throughs of the game before I found that out.

That's right, she was the one who helped me! My God has it been only a few chapters since the village... feels like eons ago.

Anyway more importantly, that was fuckin' hell. I really did end up fighting a bloody army!

These new Las Plagas victims... former soldiers or something? Mercenaries? There was this big fat guy with a machine gun, he was like a miniboss, dude killed me with his stupid gatling gun. Had to unload my bb on him.

What is this island? The first area was villagers, then the castle, now this... they've got fucking rocket launchers of their own! Best thing about that was the friendly fire though, the dude just ended up killing his mates lol.

And there were these terrifying guys in weird masks that had those electric batons, you know the ones?

Defeated them all, that was some intense shit. Just entered some kinda building now

Rations everywhere... gah some dude was hiding behind the shelves of the rations!

I hate enclosed spaces like this where an enemy might pop up by surprise at any moment now.

That damn soldier... sometimes I wanna unload a broken butterfly on them just to hear that satisfying one hit kill instead of needing to knife them all the time.

And goddamn this place is gonna wear me out isn't it. There was another big fat enemy in the previous room that's covered in protective body armor. I noticed a barely visible portion of his skin that was exposed. I'm just gonna use a grenade or something if I encounter more than one of these.

What is this place, some kinda research facility? I'm in a room with like, computers and shit. And what looks like an operating room? Some kinda abomination is dead on the table, poor thing. And I thought those prisoners who died in the castle dungeons and spikes were pitiful.

Ok opened the door! Good thing these re4 puzzles aren't too difficult.

Motherfucker gaaaah! Another one in the hallway just when I was about to turn the corner. How do I kill these things? Invincible enemies? Are you kidding me??!!!

Ok ok I'm in the freezer but thinking of reloading. That was just... ugh shivering here. I have only one first aid can and one herbs leftover.

What is this... meat packing freezer? Those monsters are hanging off hooks, oh god how do I kill them before they wake up, I'm knifing them but the game won't register it as a hit I have to wait until they wake up or something!

I want to explore the room but terrified one of them will wake. But one of the things is waiting for me just outside... I'm trapped.

You have to unfreeze the room. There is a crank you have to turn to do so. It will open a hatch with a case in it. BEFORE you go for the case look for the card rewriter and rewrite your security card. Because when you grab what's in the case it will trigger an encounter with an enemy you have to defeat to exit the room.

Oh nice! There was a briefcase in the freezer door with a... thermal scope? Just attached it to my sniper and tried to look through it. I can barely see! Feels weird.

Now just as I suspected, one of those... whatever they are, just slithered off the rack!

Use your new found scope to defeat it.

Fuck. King. Hell. That was easily the most terrifying chapter in the entire game.

The infrared scope was amazing though. There are apparently these spots, these red dots that Luis memo mentioned on these what I now know as regenerators, and if I can shoot these spots the thing just outright explodes! They can be killed!

Found Ashley in a cell, who was eerily just standing there with no acknowledgement of Leon (What was up with that?)

Went to get the card key for the door and fought off not just regular enemies, but a regenerator with spikes all over his body! That thing didn't even die when I shot the red dots on his body, I had to waste an incendiary grenade on him, it seems to do damage to those things.

Just rescued Ashley and we jumped into the trash chute. I don't know why we can't leave this horrible island the way Leon came... seems like we're jumping deeper into the zombie lion's nest.

The iron maidens have one parasite on their back, take out a leg so they fall down and you can see it without having to get around it.

Oh god. I can now spot their heavy breathing almost instantly. There were more of those... iron maidens as you call them in the trash heap area. It was like a game of ring around the rosy, I tried to run in a circle to end up running behind them and hit the Plagas on their back!

Just finished a section that was waaaaaay too annoying. I'm in a room with a lava pit in the middle and a giant wrecking ball from construction work. And there were a. ton. of. enemies. All the while I had to make sure Ashley doesn't get shot, hit, and outright killed. Couldn't even enjoy the satisfying feeling of seeing a wrecking ball devastate the wall because I was so focuses on enemies suddenly popping up, and like half of them sprout Las Plagas out of their head.

I'll be honest the game doesn't have quite the same feeling it did in the castle and the village. There's just hoards and hoards of mercenary soldier enemies now nonstop.
