Final Fantasy moved from Nintendo to PlayStation because discs had more space than carts

same reason Fatal Frame went from a ps2/xbox franchise to a Wii series. they made some sort of deal with Nintendo

Nah it was cuz Nintendo paid Capcom to give them a set of exclusives for the GameCube to help boost the library of third parties.

Capcom USA later clarified that only Resident Evil 4 was intended to be exclusive; the initial announcement was due to a miscommunication with their parent company.
