The Ringed City is really good, Ashes of Ariandel is meh.

Ringed City is probably my favorite dlc in the series

Not so sure, but we started a Discord and many from the board have joined. Although even the Discord doesnt have as many people actually playing the game still. Im in another Discord with a bunch of really good players, but most of them arent from GFAQs.

Personally I stopped doing PvE like 6 months ago and quit PvP about a month or two ago. May play again if i get drunk enough tho.

Couldn't get into DaS 2. Just didn't have the same charm to me.

I got to the "Tower on the Wall" bonfire and then ran into one of those weird followers that turned into a giant glob of something. He didn't kill me, but I ran back to the shrine lol.

fire bombs totally help against them.

but the game supports a lot of upgrade paths, and different enemies have different weaknesses, so it's best to stick with something you're comfortable with

Made my 10th character a couple nights ago, a full dex/crit build

I've beaten the game about 14 or so times across my other 9 characters but I'm getting my ass whooped more than usual

probably because daggers + low level = shit damage unless I get some backstabs

Ah. If you dont care about capping yourself or the SL meta then it doesnt really matter. But two things:

Herald is a faith leaning class to begin with. Faith is the worst playstyle for a first playthrough, as you dont get any good damage spells until late game or DLC. You will basivally just have healing and some buff spells for NG. Its decent in NG+ and PvP though.

And spears are very good for PvP, but not for PvE. Although if you plan on going faith build, the Saint Bident is possibly the best spear (its the longest) and it scales excellent with faith when lightning infused. You can find it at the cathedral of the deep which isnt that far into the game, maybe halfway or so. But another problem for you playing faith is you wont be able to lightning infuse anything until you get the proper coal anyways... you will def want to use your fire gem ASAP since it changes the scaling to not scale off your damage stats, allowing you to spend points elsewhere. But I wouldnt use it on the spear you have, that weapon is garbage.
