Until yesterday, anyway. I seriously thought this was a joke or meme, except for especially stupid people.

Yesterday I was proven wrong. I met a couple people at the bar last night that seriously thought this. They didn't seem especially stupid, at least one of them seemed fairly intelligent. I'm a fan also, so we talked about it. The way they acted, after going into the meaning of every deep moment, the idea of what Rick is, and why the show is so horrible to the "less intelligent" I was kinda ashamed to be a Rick and Morty fan.

Especially how afterwards, the second one tried to show me some fucking YouTube videos that his friend who seemed decently intelligent showed him to make sure that he really understood it all. The fact that he, or both of them apparently needed some detailed analysis to understand the deeper aspects of Rick and Morty made me kinda sad.

I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to understand well at all, without being especially smart or just not stupid in some way.

It definitely shouldn't be a personal achievement, especially if you're watching YouTube videos to explain or even confirm.

Um no. The Eric Andre Show is easily the most intelligent show on Adult Swim. Rick and Morty fans are pseudo-intellectuals who probly stopped pursuing higher education at the Bachelor level.

I'm not a huge fan of the show but the production quality is way better than the rest of the stuff on that channel, meaning it doesn't look like complete garb like their cartoons tend to do. Also has some casting choices.

It's a solid show but its fans are some of the most obnoxious there are.

It is a bit deeper, with some of it's underlying themes being fairly thought provoking at times.

It's kinda like if the other adult swim shows got more likable characters and took an intro to psychology.
