I've said it a few times now, but it's a shame that this is going to kill a great series, because the game is rather fun. They just shot themselves in the foot by rushing it out with a mediocre roster and bad graphical/audio quality.

sales will definitely go up once xmen characters get released but the game is done, the only thing that could save capcom is if the relaunch of street fighter 5 is actually good but people still might not buy it. theres word that a new devil may cry with the old dante is being made so it might help them, but it all boils down to if the resident evil 2 remake is done just like the first one.

gameplay aint everything, esp for a game like MvC. the gameplay obv needs to be there but you need to have the graphics, music, charm, personality, etc that make crossover games fun, and this one completely lacks it all.

It's Disney's fault for pushing the MCU focus instead of it being a representation of Marvel's history like the previous entries.

No, Sony has the movie rights to Spiderman and Fox has the movie rights to Fantastic 4 and X Men

There was nothing stopping Disney from putting in X Men characters in MVCI, but they're basically trying to get Fox to give them back the rights and won't allow Xmen or Fantastic 4 in other forms of media until then

I mean, yeah. It's not like they didn't bring it on themselves, but at the same time, it is a genuinely fun game. I don't think the series deserves to die off entirely on an entry that's ultimately fun to play, but I'm sure Capcom will blame the sales on a lack of interest, rather than the negative reception due to issues that were pretty avoidable.

Sure, Disney likely didn't tell them to make it ugly, but probably did have strict deadlines on it needing to be out before year end as the whole fucking thing is just a hype generator for Black Panther and Captain Marvel movies.

It's extremely bizarre that they would make this game so fast given the vast gap in time between MvC2 and MvC3 and even SF4 vs SF5.

MvC2 -> MvC3 = 11 year difference
SF4 -> SF5 = 8 year difference
MvC3 -> MvCI 6 year difference
