A 22-year-old Inkster woman said she was attacked by her Uber driver after being propositioned for sex.

Ashley Johnson ended the night on the floor in pain at around 2 a.m. Friday morning.

Instead of a tip, he demanded a sexual favor from her.

Horrified, she immediately declined and said she would give him some tip money upon arriving home.

The driver said that would be okay, but he suddenly had a change of heart.

"I opened the door and he grabbed my arm and sped off," she said. "But my leg was outside the door, dragging me down until my arm got out the car."

Is there some sort of correlation as to why most, if not all, taxi and Uber drivers are male?

Because I figure most women might want to opt for a female driver as opposed to male for the sake of security.

Are you implying most men are comfortable with having complete strangers in their car? Because I'd be hesitant to chauffeur people whom I have no awareness about.

I take uber a lot. Only had 2 female drivers. And one told us she was packing heat in the glovebox lol

This particular Uber ride was not set up on her phone, but rather the phone of someone else she doesn't know.

I'll be real honest, this sounds like the kind of thing you'd say if you were making up a story trying to pin the blame on Uber when you really got injured doing something else

He said they get home drunk and horny and 2 have invited him inside and one he hooked up with in the car it was her birthday.

I think given this topic you can understand why women aren't particularly keen on inviting strange men into their car. (I have no idea whether a woman uber driver would be able to single out their riders based on gender?)

I don't think anybody's keen on inviting strangers into their car. There's plenty of videos showcasing confrontations and physical violence between Uber drivers and their passengers all over the Internet, meaning whether you're male or female, no one's safe from an altercation.

And while men may not have to worry too much about being sexually assaulted, they still run the risk of being robbed, held hostage, or force to drive in a secluded area.
