Gameplay is about the only solid aspect of it. But then again the infinity stones fuck it all up.

Graphics, character models, and animations are atrocious. The story is cringey from start to finish. The roster is shit balls. No arcade endings for characters. Bare bones single player content. Awful voice acting. Etc.

Ryu looks disgusting too. Monster Hunter looks like the only Capcom character that had some actual effort put into her. Her voice is trash like every other character in the game. Reuben Langdon who has done the voice of Dante since forever hinted that the voice director didn't give a crap and that's why even his work as Dante was so crap.

I have no idea wtf they were thinking with the game's visuals. Say what you will about SFV but the characters and animation look fantastic. And MvC3 had a pretty good look to it as well.

MvCI looks like an up scaled mobile port. From a gameplay standpoint it looks fine, seems like the typical chaotic mess that is Marvel. It's just ugly to look at.

It's a great game dragged down by either laziness or a lack of budget, or both.

In terms of gameplay, it's a blast to play and is up there for one of the most fun MvCs. There's a ton of freedom with your combos and most characters got some fun new tools to mess with.

On the other hand, everything else is a mess.

The graphics are obviously a mess with most of the characters looking weird at best, if not outright ugly. There are a few that look alright, and a lot of the effects on the moves look really cool, but for the most part the game is ugly as hell.

I haven't touched story mode yet, but I hear it's pretty atrocious.

The voice acting is confusingly bad, with some substitutions being weird (Laura Bailey being replaced by Ashly Burch...eugh.) and even most returning voice actors just seemingly like they don't care that much. This one is pretty odd to me considering that it doesn't seem THAT hard to get slightly better work from talented VAs, but it must have been something going on with the director or just a lack of time that forced them to rush it out.

The DLC policy is nauseating considering that they announced that some major characters would be DLC well ahead of the game's release.

And of course, the roster itself sorta sucks. There are a few good picks, like Jedah, but for the most part the roster is just confusing. There are so few newcomers, a lack of females, and even the returning vet picks are bizarre. They gave Ghosts and Goblins as many reps as Street Fighter? Nemesis returned over Wesker? Capcom fan favorites like Vergil and Phoenix Wright got axed for nobodies like Spencer and Firebrand? There are just some very odd picks on the roster that make almost no sense to me.

If the game fails, it probably deserves it, but at the same time, I wouldn't even call it a bad game. It's very fun to play, but there are so many other issues that bog it down that I'm not really surprised that the sales are tanking. It'll be a shame if this kills the series, which seems decently likely at this point, because it's quite fun to play.

It's fucking amazing how they managed to downgrade the graphics that hard. It literally looks on par with the graphics from Tatsunoko vs Capcom which was a Wii game.

Ashly is a great VA hush

Apparently the voice director was fairly new and therefore didn't really retake most of the lines

they were shitting on an early low res screenshot of her face mixed in with screenshots of other bad art from Injustice 1.

she looks great in game. The art in Injustice 2 is top notch in general. Best I've ever seen from a Superhero game.

Pretty much this for me, the roster more than the visuals. I rented it but my desire to keep playing it so low because there's only like 3 characters I'm interested in.

The story mode was laughably bad, but I don't really knock it for that. Though if they would've axed it and put in more characters that would've been great.

Also it just seems like it lacks a "soul", for lack of a better term, compared to 3. That game seemed like a passion project and it came through. This seems like it was hampered so much by politics and laziness that it just comes across as a cash grab.

It's a shame because the gameplay is very fun
