People keep saying it's disrespecting the flag and country:.. How? Think about this. The country was built on Religion. The belief of God and Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter if you believe in that or not. That is still true. When we were being to taught about praying we are praying standing up, sitting down and kneeling. None of those actions were a disrespect to God or Jesus. So now you are telling me that kneeling/sitting for the National Anthem is disrespectful to the country when kneeling or sitting to pray to God is honoring him? Especially when the majority of the country, especially the complainers, worship God and Jesus.

I don't understand how that makes sense. Clearly God is of greater importance to them compared to the United States.

Also... kneeling isn't even a big deal. It's a non violent protest to a message that has been forever lost to the citizens because it became about disrespecting the flag instead of the actual message. How are people so forgiving about other things such as a recovering drug addict, a prior hooker or stripper, thief, etc. but despise people doing a non violent protest that's perfectly within their rights in the country to do so? The flag literally represents their rights to do it.

Sorry for the rant but I just don't understand.

people are taught to stand at attention and salute the flag like they are soldiers saluting an officer. and the army doesn't let you salute officers while sitting.

How so? By not following tradition? Tradition determines respect?

It's only seen as disrespectful because of who is doing it. The people upset about it would rather he kept his mouth shut, made his millions, and not make a spectacle of himself.

Its simple. Kaep started it to take a stand against the Police and how they felt the Police treated the black community. People don't like that. In order to not have to say that they turned it into an argument about the Troops and the Flag.

no matter how you feel about Kaep just talking about Black people with regard to the police...making it about the Troops is ignorant. The National Anthem is not a "Support our Troops" song. I agree with them. its not just black people...Police need better training and more accountability as a whole..but we can't have that discussion because everyone wants to cry about flag etiquette instead, like it suddenly fuckin matters...

I wouldn't kneel or sit. While I disagree with the act, I'm not going to kick up a fuss, boycott, or demand firings over people exercising their rights.

I understand this view perfectly. It's much more rational compared to what I have seen from not only Trump, but a lot of others on the internet as well. It's an opinion I greatly respect.

Good deal.

Trump should focus on running the country rather than running his twitter fingers.

He can't because he is one of the most thin skinned president's we've had in recent memory

I can only imagine the field day conservatives would have had if Obama behaved the way Trump does but strangely they turn a blind eye to his actions.
