How the hell is it disrespectful to the military if they want to draw attention to police brutality?

Only reason I could think of is racism. So many comments I see are people getting pissed off at the fact that the athletes are overpaid black people who should be thankful they are not on welfare, which is totally bonkers.

I really wish big name white athletes like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Brian Scalabrine would take a knee just to shut the racists up.

That's the most insane comparison that I've ever heard. They're hired and given a contract agreeing to do a job. The uniform is part of it. Standing for the anthem isn't.

IMO the playing of the national anthem is not necessary before games. Just scrap it and the problem is solved. Its a football game, not a national event.

I just dont like it when they dont do anything other than that. If you want to make a change, then go out and do it. And while I might not agree with what kap and all of them are kneeling for but I can at least support their right to do it.

The anthem isn't about the military, it's about the history of this country. It's a symbol of liberty, not white supremacy and to suggest it is, is an insult to the entire country, not the corrupt politicians or greedy businesses that currently run it but the people who choose to live in it.

The only reason any of these people can make a living playing these games for a few months a year is because this is a country and not a colony. What we know as baseball and football would not exist. We'd all be playing soccer for the Queen.

And if it wasn't for Abolitionism and the Civil Rights Movement these black men wouldn't be allowed to play either.

It's true America has been responsible for a lot of terrible things, but we've made a lot of progress and to denounce that progress because intolerance still exists, despite being illegal and all the affirmative action putting poor minorities through school strictly based on their skin color, is ignorant and disrespectful towards the people that fought for and benefited from that progress.

In the end the real reason these people don't want to stand is because they themselves are racists. They think there's too many white people and they want us to die off.

The same exact arguments were used in the 1960s in regards to segregation. Telling black people they should be thankful slavery is over and the civil Rights movement is anti white

Philando Castille's death was a travesty, and the cop walking was a perversion. Doesn't change the fact that BLM would rather literally lay seige to a police station in the wake of a rapist getting shot while reaching for a gun over Castille.
