It’s extremely disrespectful to kneel to the anthem. He’s doing the equivalent of rolling out a disabled veteran onto the field, spitting on his face and yelling “f*** you & f*** this good for nothing country” directly to the veteran’s face.

It seems like the only group that can be counted on to show respect to this great country and the flag is white people, specifically non-liberal whites. #MAGA

Kaep clearly said why he was sitting during the anthem so you're not doing yourself any favors by mischaracterizing the rationale. On top of that, you aren't doing yourself any favors by talking about loving and respecting a free country if you think people should pledge allegiance and stand for the national anthem, lest they be bad people. That's literally the rational of a dictatorship or at the very least an authoritarian government to suggest the people must or have to participate in such activities. You are actually what you're talking about. A horrible citizen. YOU, in fact, don't understand how good you have it and if you could see past your hang ups on the anthem participation, you'd see how little of a deal it is and might actually listen to the protest.

Well I think the movement started because “racist cops” when uhh take a basic 100 level police administration course and you’ll learn the truth about what was happening there.

Most cops aren’t racist

That's your hangup. The movement is about unequal use of force on minorities (specifically black people) by cops, but it's also about how the cops were rarely, if ever punished. They honestly weren't until the last 5 years or so. To suggest that it's about racist cops, once again suggests that you weren't listening to what the protest was saying. The movement asks for reform on protocol and doesn't assume all cops are racist, but when examples of police misconduct go unpunished, the bad apple starts spoiling the bunch. Then there's the whole white supremacist presence in the police force that the FBI has documented and followed for awhile.

(racism does sadly exist. But not only white cops. Black people who beat random white, or black people who form walls and tell white people to go around not through, then making white kids late for class, that’s racist too)

Which is further evidenced by getting defensive for white cops for whatever reason and doing a "not all white people" thing. I don't know why some white people get defensive like that, but it's really annoying. Obviously not all white people are like that and not all cops are like that. Wasting time clearing up obvious shit completely misses the point.

But I admit I’m sort of sensitively on it because my brother was my best friend and hero growing up and when he joined the military I hardly ever get to see him now and since it’s soemthing he believes in and he works hard and sacrifices for I just get mad that people act like he’s doing it for nothing, or for bad people, or those anti military people who say they just want to kill

I have (living) family that fought in the Korean War and the Vietnam War so I do understand the value and importance of the service they provide. But as has been stated, they protected our right to not have to stand or be forced to pledge allegiance. They were fighting in countries where people might get imprisoned, shot or died if they didn't do such things. I don't get why you think we should emulate those countries, but your opinion on this ain't right.

But we have data on that? The policebrustalitt cases that cops got out of we can see the suspect had weapons, or lunged for cops, and etc. in fact police being jumpy for their guns is partly societal because cops get sued for using tasers and when they don’t use guns, often times they’re killed first~ so the violence is about area they’re patrolling in not the color of the suspect~ (some neighborhoods are taught to fight cops more?) basically is what I’m saying~

I’m not defensive about white cops I’m defensive about cops lol. You seeem to think I’m just a salty white girl but I’m not even white.

My mom values that I don’t have to respect her or call her anymore since I’m an adult but I still do because I’m not like the MOST dishonorable daughter out there. Yeah she respects that I’m an adult and can make my choices but I respect. That he did a bunch for me and I do what I can to love and appreciate her.

It’s a very similar concept.

Btw you can’t just say my opinion is wrong because you disagree, you’re being childish too now. What is that xD

That's about the response I expected from someone who says that it's disrespectful to people who died for our rights to use our rights.

You say the flag doesn’t stand for you because even though you use all the rights, we have issues. Thatis oretty immature.

So here's the thing. It's a fucking flag. There's more to this country than a fucking flag. If you're gonna talk about big, important, existential concepts, you need to make sure that you're not overreaching based on the premise. So you're allowed to feel it's immature, but I'm allowed to disagree as well. This isn't a petty issue of maturity because that's putting your own bias on it to shape what is happening. I mean, I get that you feel that way, but there's nothing that says I have to agree with how you feel. Your paraphrasing of his words sidesteps the reasoning and rationale of the protest and by not getting what free speech is and suggesting that he's wrong for feeling that way, you are validating his point.

But we have data on that? The policebrustalitt cases that cops got out of we can see the suspect had weapons, or lunged for cops, and etc. in fact police being jumpy for their guns is partly societal because cops get sued for using tasers

Wasn't aware about cops getting sued for using tasers, but they clearly don't feel it's enough of a threat to not still continue to spend money on them. And what happened to the baton?

and when they don’t use guns, often times they’re killed first

This seems anecdotal. I mean, it's based on a realistic premise, but that's just because it's "likely" to be true, but anecdotal evidence shouldn't be enough to justify having a shoot(kill) first mentality across the board.

I’m not defensive about white cops I’m defensive about cops lol. You seeem to think I’m just a salty white girl but I’m not even white.

No, it's because you suggested that white cops were the primary concern out of nowhere and has nothing to do with who you are. Not everything is about you.

I don't understand the context of this let alone what concept you're saying is similar.

Btw you can’t just say my opinion is wrong because you disagree, you’re being childish too now. What is that xD

That's literally what you're doing with this quoted text. What's childish is not being able to accept criticism. Opinions are invalid if they're based on false premises. "It's just an opinion" is not a true statement especially because it has no concern for the truth, but also because it's just a cover story for ignorance.

We aren't talking about business owners firing employees over their actions, we are talking about the president of the united states telling business owners that they should fire their employees for daring to protest the presidents administration.

He didn't do that though.

Which part didn't he do?

He stated that by kneeling, they should all be fired.

I don't support the kneeling because I think it's a hollow gesture. But after what Trump said fuck him I hope all the players kneel down and give a middle finger to that Oompa Lumpa

what do they say about a president urging a private entity to punish its employees for exercising their free speech?

If you want me to use the liberal argument, then it's because actions and speech has consequences.

Personally, I don't give a flying fuck if they kneel or not, but it's up to the team management/ownership if they want that sort of thing to represent them.

LMAO, how are you a mod?

Do you not understand that the First Amendment is supposed to protect the right to speak your mind from government suppression?

I love how the response in the first game today is to have more than ever kneel during the anthem and even get one of the god damn owners down on the field with his players locked in arms.

Who says I studied any of this? All I had to do to learn this was keep one eye open during pretty much any random day of grade school.
