It's literally junk and it's over $100 with 21 bids. 21 bids for expensive junk.

Why?

No I don't think that's the case. This isn't a gotcha or anything. the picture is clearly a broken switch. the damn thing looks like it was left in a hot car for 6 hours and then raced a slinky to the bottom of an escalator.

I just don't understand why parts are worth that much. I can buy all kinds of brand new electronics kits for less than $100

Also with Sony out of warranty repair is like 150 or 175, so might be similar with Nintendo to still be cheaper to buy this send it to get fixed. But I read nothing beyond the for parts!! Title

Could also be a cheap way of accessing the hardware while trying to figure out how to hack it.

I think the reason is so people could take it apart and resell the useful parts. I don't know why the seller didn't do that themselves, but whatever.

I remember hearing once that it was cheaper to build a 3DS out of parts you buy online than it would be to buy a new one, so maybe there's a market for Switch parts...

I imagine most hackers would want to start with a working model.

It's probably because the repair cost exceeds $100 like Toast said.

Data can still be extracted from chips on a broken console.
You can still see the motherboard layout and whats connected where.
It is more a theoretical way of figuring it out, and perhaps they think they can soldering the broken stuff.
That said, I believe that most hackers that want to try it already bought a working unit ages ago, so Toast is most likely correct.
