I am pretty sure the average male Tiger has typically won with only a few battles going the lion's way. Tigers are much bigger and stronger than lions, but Lions are animals that stay in packs anyway.

Male lion wins. It's mane is like body armor, even a tiger is only getting a mouthful of fur. They almost always strike for the throat, that not work against a male lion. I saw 2 videos of lions and tigers fighting, always ended with the tiger retreating.

Male lions are lazy AF in large part because they need that energy to devote towards reproduction. I think this is an unexpected example where the female members of the species may be more dangerous than the male. That said, sexual dimorphism in big cats is still a thing. Male lions will be bigger than most female lions. And that weight puts a lot of hurt on you when they get to swinging.

They are meant to brawl, nothing more, nothing less. Their job is to protect the pride.
