It's like any game night or activity.
Getting too drunk is a problem.
Have a few beers is fine.
But don't bring more than you can handle to get tipsy.
If you had too much to be sober in a few hours, you had too much

I always assumed most DnD sessions involved drinking. Or at least a good deal of them.

I mean I can handle my liquor pretty well though. I can get shitfaced drunk but still maintain my composure pretty well and not cause problems in an activity such as DnD.

Being shitfaced would make it easier to decide what your dwarf would do if he was shitfaced. You would be irresponsible to not be drinking tbh

Take water after a drink.
You really shouldn't be too drunk for a game like that.
It's not like everyone else is gonna be drunk.
I've drank with friends and I can handle my alcohol and am usually the one with better control.
It's never fun when someone is a drunk and the other person(s) enough to notice.

Just don't drink too much

I don't drink or play DnD, and this sounds like an odd rule even to me.

Any game that has a pretentious drinking limit is something I'd swiftly be getting rid of. I enjoy a few beers with a game should I decide to spend a weekend in. Obviously being paralytic isn't ideal, but nothing wrong with drinking and gaming. It takes a rather reclusive individual to decide that gaming isn't anti-social enough and then screech about people who enjoy a social beer.
