My DS Lite's R button just dropped from working "most of the time" to working "occasionally"?

What is it with Nintendo and making stuff that breaks? My first DS had its touch screen crap out.

Um Nintendo products are heavy duty stuff. Maybe you just got a defective one.

I dream of one day owning a SNES Classic.
I like Gardevoir, just not in that way.

The DS Lite was notorious for their hinges and triggers breaking. You can fix it pretty easily though instead of completely giving up on it. Look up a tutorial. Takes about 10 minutes and $10

I don't know about DS's but nintendo really does make some hardcore consoles and the gba and brick game boy can take a beating (newest handheld I have is an old school purple gba)

You wouldn't think so, but it's actually dust build up. Blow into the ridges by the shoulder button for a good 5 seconds. Possibly even purse your lips against it. Reply back if that's the case, because I'd like to know. You wouldn't think dust is the problem, especially when you just dropped the system, but it's a very common problem

Ok, maybe I'll do that. I don't think it's the hinge but who knows maybe it'll help.

Wow so I geabbed the compressed air I keep around and sprayed some in all the openings around th R button (and the L button for good measure) and now it appears to work perfectly. Thanks for the tip. I should've thought of that.

I guess I owe Nintendo an apology (but that's still 2 in a row!)

Nice! Be careful with the Lite though. Not sure how long you've had it but the hinges crack often. My DS Phat is still going strong though.

Yeah I'm careful with all my stuff but accidents do happen.

I've walked literally hundreds of miles with this baby and still no drops. Planning to keep it that way.
