even new games, you can get Destiny 2 disc only for 45 with free shipping, no sales tax most of the time in my state.

If you are willing to wait, you can get games for about $5-10 cheaper than even what amazon has them for. I just got Ghost Recon Wildlands and RE:7 for $36 free shipping for both.

If you are patient and don't care about playing a game the day it comes out, and especially if you're willing to wait a month or two, you'll save a lot of money. A month old game on Ebay is usually like 35-40 bucks if you are willing to be patient.

how many digital games do you have? where's the case for those?

most of the time you can still find the games with the case for cheaper though, my point still stands. RE7 and Wildlands are both like new condition with case and extras (just open). 18 bucks a pop, that is like 12-20 bucks cheaper than anywhere else.

oh well I understand. Still though, you can find sealed new games a lot cheaper than Amazon every once in a while (most of the time it is pretty close for sealed), if you don't prime or don't care about having it in 2 days it is a good option (I don't buy enough online to justify $100 a year for free shipping when ebay has it on same items just not 2 days, and the few times I would want something in 2 days I'll pay the extra 5 bucks).

Eh Ebay is only worthwhile for collecting rare and obscure video games and accessories/consoles

It's the only place to get a lot of that stuff, and it's the only reason I would ever deal with Ebay.

ebay has been kind of expensive for me when it comes to games, especially retro games. DVDs on the other hand are a gold mine. i routinely find good stuff for $5 or less and that includes shipping

You do not need a case for a digital game as it isn't a physical item that needs to be physically stored away when not in use. Game discs are physical items that need to be stored away with not in use.

When you aren't playing a digital game it is just stored on your console or on a hard drive/memory card until you want to play it again. When you aren't playing a physical game, you need to find somewhere to physically store it and find a way to keep it protected while it is not in use as it is a physical item that can be damaged if not stored properly.

I generally like all of my physical games to have their original case as it is the best way to store them and keep them organized when not in use.

CD cases can scratch up discs in my experience and you lose the original artwork. It's a half-assed solution for people who don't mind it, but hardly ideal.

soft cd cases scratch games more than the hard cases, and you have more of a tendency to crack the inside of the disc.

I find it more ideal than having 20 tacky ass blue or green cases sitting around and having to sort through those to try to find a game rather than flipping through a book, but to each his own. Wah @ the artwork lol.

anyway I was just trying to save everyone else a couple of bucks like I have, but I mean I'm not putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy a game from ebay (even games in cases can be cheaper). You make a topic trying to help people out on CE and in comes in people to rush to tell you that you are wrong, even though you have two good examples of how you are right lol.
