Why on earth would you get Donkey Kong Land when they released a faithful Donkey Kong Country remake for Game Boy Color.

I dream of one day owning a SNES Classic.
I like Gardevoir, just not in that way.

The Land games are pretty good for being Gameboy games. Not as good as the Country games, but still good.

If you've played the SNES version of DKC1 there's no reason to play the GB one since it's just a downsized port. That said, it's actually a very good port given the limitations of the GB. There's just nothing you haven't seen before.

No idea about the later ones.

At the time, they were kind of like playing a bad photocopy of the Country games.

Though I do remember they built a lot of secrets around you needing to use advanced techniques that were originally glitches, like abusing roll/cartwheel animations way beyond ledges before jumping etc

I liked Donkey Kong Land 2 and 3, but the original was really strange, and I could never get past that stupid stage where you were on the moving platform in the sky.

I'm looking forward to playing DK1 on SNES classic. Just wish they would give those things a way to get more games like DK2 and DK3 as well

Yeah DK2 is the best in the series by far. They should have gone that route, since by now pretty much everyone who is getting a SNES classic is getting it for nostalgia to replay some of their favorite games. Don't put DK in over DK2 just because it's the first in the series. Ugh
