Fantastic movie, 9/10. The performances by Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Shannon were all spectacular and served their own distinct purposes. I really enjoyed that the film was layered and had the intertwining stories.

Anyone else's thoughts?

Yeah, I really liked it.

At first I tought it was about sex(as the title was an eufemism for that), but nope.
it's about revenge, the whole book to torture her as an analogy for her abortion, not showing up as the finishing move after she founds out that her husband is cheating her, etc. At least that's what I understood about that movie.

I got this DVR'd, been waiting to check it out for awhile. I can't stand Amy Adams (except for when she was "hot Pam" in the Office.. damn, the contrast really did wonders for her tbh) but it sounds like a good concept.

Yeah that's what a got from it too. And then when Jake Gyllenhaal dies at the end it shows that revenge isn't pretty and it doesn't get you the end you want.

Just great layered storytelling overall.
