Their dynamic kind of flips later on which shows the give and take and makes them more even handed. It's a really nice one and now I kind of want to rewatch the first four seasons again.

She rapes Frank (who is and admittedly terrible person so, yeah, I guess you can overlook that if you want) in season one and her attitude towards her father and mother is awful. So, nah, didn't like her out of the gate.

she seems much nicer to her mother than what you described. and to be fair her dad is a jerk so i kind of side with karen on that.

He treats Shiela like crap and insults her for her phobia, then switches into a hypocritical religious fanatic whenever they turn it around on him. I also dislike Karen for later stuff, but they show the dad making his bed throughout S1. I would say her attitude toward him is very justified.

When Fiona spits out facts to people, and especially deserving ones to deserving people. Like, she'sfucking brilliant, and talented, and amazing. Talent always wins.

Fiona's awesome for the first four seasons. I inly start to dislike her in five and six... but I feel that way about most of the characters by that point. FIona season four I gave a pass because she had been the rock for so long... but I couldn't give her a pass again after that.

Sheila's crazy and her actions in the later seasons coupled with Karen's made me appreciate's the father's predicament far more. I can't remember everything that happened in that season conpletely well since it eas so ling ago but I recall that voyage into the purity thing inly being trigerred by seeing his daughter...you know with Ian and finding out more about her afterwards. Just a case of trying to over correct.


Karen's reaction to him being dead and her actions in the following two seasons just made her seem like complete hellspawn.

Shameless was a little too in-my-face for my tastes. It is very much a Showtime show like that, where it doesn't allow for any subtlety in case the audience might not get it.

The show has more than a couple of bisexuals, not really sure what they're doing wrong. They don't tell them to pick a side or anything, they're just acknowledged as existing.


Anyway, Ian likes to top and Mickey likes to bottom so it works for them both of them.

That character goes down hill at an accelerated pace throughout the later seasons. Same as most of them, the worst case being Debbie.

It's probably more about the context during that season than the character. I'd say Ian is the less savory of the two, but it's easy for the audience to forgive him when we've seen how much he's been through.
