The entire reason for that moment to carry impact is that it's something that's a running idea in the novels whereas it was a one-off scene from the first season of the show. Good scene? Absolutely, but it wasn't translated as a running theme as to why Tyrion hated Tywin. It would've come off as clunky and abrupt if they adapted it that way. It would have been bad writing because the mediums aren't the same. The line makes perfect sense considering the context of Tyrion's relationship with Shae anyways. --- Enjoy movies and television?
