Bought it on DVD for cheap today, finally gonna give it a watch. I know pretty much nothing about it other than it's supposedly fantastic and super depressing.

Looked into the audio settings to try and throw on Subtitles, and saw that the only 2 options were just English or Japanese with English subtitles.

So, is the English dub good, or nah?

I had no idea there even was an English dub. Since I've only seen it in Japanese, I would suggest that.

Also, Grave of The Fireflies is a movie you watch once, and then never again.

Japanese with subtitles, definitely.

Unless it's one of them super cheap DVDs that only has dubtitles.

Japanese. It's set in Japan about the Japanese civilians in World War II. It's the only option that makes sense. For other Ghibli movies, feel free to watch in English, but I think this one has to be watched in Japanese.

That is one depressing movie, like the other poster said you watch it once and thats it.

Would not suggest watching the film if you are sad or depressed in anyway as it could put you on suicide watch with how badly it can get to some people.

Holy fuck, what a movie.

Depressing as fuck, was holding back tears for most of the movie.

But holy shit, such a beautiful film too.

That was fucking amazing.

Great, I had just forgot about this movie too ;_;

Props to the author for preventing people from turning this into an anti-war/pro-Japanese culture movie.
