I have recently acquired records that include the notes from appoints with a psychiatrist that my father forced me to go to in my teens. Here are some funny things (also the handwritten stuff is my own writing because I just went through highlighting and writing notes on it):

5J8Fqlc

My dad accuses me of trying to be a drug dealer, trying to move to Amsterdam to get into the marijuana business. None of that was true. I wasn't there at the time. I had decided that I was done with that doctor, and I was refusing to engage in any more psychobabble or pills. My dad still went to the appointment and used it as a platform to say all that crap about me.

IOKTen0

Disturbing conversations- insists on using lots of marijuana. Damn straight! And your asperger's diagnosis? Complete and utter bullshit, thank you very much. I immediately disregarded that and instead cut off these psychobabble morons right then and there.

j4gaqqL

WTF^ I'm not even there and this psychiatrist just assumes that I have not had another relationship since my first break up! He has literally no info on that subject, and literally still decided to write that into his notes

ZKssP1h

And finally, I feel unaccepted? Maybe because you're putting me through all this bullshit! But the funny part here is that last comment. "He seems pretty secretive about some things he's doing in his room (probably on the computer)" LOL

Are you looking for us to comfort you or to laugh? I'm not really sure what to do with this. Obviously, you and your dad have a lack of communication and, even though the doctor was probably off base on some stuff, you clearly had some issues to work through, too.

A laugh, I tried to post the shit I found funny, but I guess it's probably not actually funny if you don't know me or my dad.

Darn, I at least thought the relationship remark and the bit about being secretive on the computer was funny

No, I mean, it's not unreasonable to assume that someone who took a break up hard would take some time to get over it, and most teens are secretive on the computer.

True, though maybe I should have specified that the comment was written over 3 years after that break up -.-

I had to order the records because I might be working in a field where I could end up getting a government security clearance some day, and therefore I need to see what kind of a paper trail is out there when it comes to this stuff because they might be looking into it.

Thankfully from what I understand even the "top secret" clearance only goes back 10 years so in about 3 years this will be long ago enough so that it hopefully doesn't come up.

For filling out the SF-86, but for most things you'll still go through a psych eval and they'll ask for that info.

I don't understand the "pattern" note after the SAT is mentioned.

I am not sure what he meant by that either, but I think it's him saying that because I am not connecting with the community college that I was no longer the student that I used to be, which was one who was much more involved with things like extracurricular activities.

Also that sucks about what you said about the psych eval, but I consider all of these diagnoses to be 100% invalid so it's whatever.

Also I am 24 now.

You're not going to want to hear this, but marijuana use WILL get in the way of a security clearance.

Do you think so? Every single other person has told me the opposite about that, and that they don't really care as long as you're honest. Of course, I think this pertained to past marijuana use and that they wouldn't expect you to be *still* smoking it.

There's no way in hell we can get decent cybersecurity talent these days with a zero tolerance policy on past marijuana use. Even the FBI has had to change their policies on that.

To me, reads as him noting the TC is self-sabotaging.
I don't know how the SATs are related, though. That's just attempting to get into a university.

I'm talking about continuing use. You aren't necessarily screwed with your past (unless it somehow indicates to them that you are lying about no longer using).

Oh okay, well as long as my paper trail has ended then it doesn't really matter. As far as anyone who asks is concerned, I no longer use marijuana. I did in my late teens and through college a bit, but now those days are behind me.
