In a really tight budget and want to use my credit card some groceries.

Currently have a $0 balance on the card. Do not have a payment due obviously but if I did it would have to be made on the 3rd. If I use it today will I be expected to pay it/minimum payment by the 3rd despite using it for the first time today (the 1st)?

Don't have the cash to do the minimum payment currently but also do not want to take a hit to my otherwise good credit.

You should probably take the time to learn how your credit card works before getting one. The fuck kind of question is this?

The 3rd pay due date was for last billing cycle
You're on a different billing cycle now so your payment will probably be due next month

So even if you used your credit card now, you'd still show $0 balance for this billing cycle
and then as soon as next billing cycle rolls around you'd show $80 or whatever you spend on groceries

I THINK, if i'm understanding you correctly, this is right?

If you don't have the cash to pay it, you probably shouldn't do it. If you'll have the cash to pay it off by the time the billing cycle ends, you'll be okay but you have to make sure you actually do it instead of spending that money on something else.

fuck you fam you could just be helpful. I usually just pay it off before the month ends so I've never had this problem.
