All because of the stigma of the Wii U. It was one of the best features of the Wii U (and it's still a shame that system had to die, despite having some of the best games this generation).

They could have made it for the Switch easily, especially since the Switch is Wii U Pro for the most part.

But they had to kill it permanently for no real reason.

Is this going to be one of those times when you pretend not to have a plan until the last moment? And then turn out to really not have one?

The reason miiverse failed is because they had too many highly aggressive admins who banned everyone for everything.

It is why it quickly died off shortly after launch.

Which is why it totally died off in Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, and Smash Bros?

Those games hardly even used it lol. Smash Bros has a dedicated fanbase, Mario Maker merely has people sharing stuff because it is what the game is all about, Splatoon is using it the same way Splatoon 2 does. None of that really has anything to do with the miiverse.

Mario Maker DID have a purpose though.

Before a certain update, commenting on a level would grant an automatic star. So naturally, I would make intentionally shitty levels designed to be boring and waste 8 minutes of the player's life with no challenges whatsoever, solely to get angry comments.

That sounds pretty funny actually, that's the kind of harmless trolling that is hilarious.

That's by definition the exact opposite of deprecation dude.

Deprecation means the tech is still there and can be used but will no longer be updated or supported.
It sounds to me according to your post they removed the feature entirely.

Miiverse is essentially an Orwellian take on 4chan. Nothing of value has been lost.

From what I can tell, there's just a pre-baked message for when the server eventually returns a "410 Gone" response. Commandeering the DNS or IP, and reverse-engineering the API, could very well create a 'pirate' Miiverse.

I know a lot of Miiverse posts were garbage, but that made it funny. After all, that's how it is on most gaming forums. Plus, seeing what people were capable of drawing just on the GamePad was neat. I will miss it, but it's not a huge deal. Nintendo was probably sick of modding it, which is why they "outsourced" the social media stuff to Twitter and Facebook on the Switch.
