Why can't I call a female cute without it turning creepy?

I called Cassie Drake cute after I beat Uncharted 4 and the PS4 subreddit turned on me.

I mean what the fuck, I just think she has a cute design. It doesn't make me a perv.

I totally am and don't deny it but the insinuation was not meant to point in that direction. I really just think her design is cute with the glasses, flowing blonde hair, and beachwear.

Suppose it depends the context. I mean I can say my 5 year old Niece is cute and there is nothing creepy about that but if I'm looking at a 15 year old girl and saying "man she's cute" then that's creepy.

but if the genders are swapped it becomes acceptable. thats the part that really kills me. its like how someone pointed out over this photo of a bunch of middle aged women screaming and going apeshit over that dude from twillight, that had it been a bunch of 40 year old men doing the same over the girl they would have been looked down on and considered creepy pervs.
