Cutco is a MLM scam. There is no interview, they'll sell you that you'll become a millionaire selling knives, you'll pay a "training fee" then its a really shitty door to door sales job. Unless you are working at the factory or whatever. I wouldn't even show up.

In all seriousness I once went to an interview for Vector Marketing (I think that was the name) and they sat me and six other people down and explained to us how great their knives were and had us cut ropes with said knives and said we could make our own schedule and showed pictures of people on yachts who'd gotten rich selling knives.

After that they said we'd get a 200 dollar bonus for every friend we signed up and that our knives would cost us 500 dollars but we'd make that money back in no time.

Me and three other people just got up and left after the presentation. I feel bad for the people who stayed.

IIRC Cutco just makes the knives. The MLM that they outsource to is Vector Marketing. They are the MLM scammers.

If you're interviewing for a position actually with cutco like somewhere in the knife manufacturing process, that's not a scam.

They don't actually advertise it as you can become a millionaire from just selling knives. The whole thing is basically you start selling knives and if you do a good job you move up and then instead of selling knives you are in charge of the people selling knives and make your money off of what they sell. Do a good job and move up to watching over a district. Repeat.

The thing is it's very unlikely you'll move up and actually make the promise of wealth they talk about. Which isn't really a lie, because the people at the top do make a ton of money.

The dishonest part is that they don't tell you that in order to move up the chain that you are actually competing with lots of other people also selling knives and if they do a better job than you, then you don't move up.

My brother worked for them breifly and they had some kind of creepy religious-ish awards ceremony for people who did the best and this one girl won basically all of them and was moving up the chain. Everyone else basically just had to sit on their thumbs and get nothing.
