How long is this game anyway? Hours wise? Number of battles?

I've heard it's around 20 hours. No idea on number of battles. Each section generally has a few and there are 10 sections per world.

I don't know why so people say things like "it should be terrible." It's by a developer that has proven to be competent at making RPGs, they have plenty of money and resources, and it's not like a proper X-Com game is so difficult to emulate. The only "problem" are the Rabbids, and even that couldn't get too bad since this is still using Nintendo's properties so they wouldn't let Ubi misuse their characters or scenarios involving their characters.

I haven't bought it yet (no clue when I will), but I was always optimistic when the leaks first went out, and I liked the concept since seeing footage of it back at E3.

What RPG's are you referring to? I'm don't know too much about Ubisoft Milan.

I think it makes sense people were concerned. Most Rabbid games are pretty shovelware/low-budget. The Mario/Sonic Olympic games aren't anything special.

I had high hopes for it so I'm not too shocked it ended up being good. The E3 showing was great. But I can understand that not everyone was optimistic.

Was it Ubisoft Milan specifically? Then maybe they weren't as involved in the other Ubi RPGs, but they still come from the same company that does have a good rep in that genre so I don't see what reason there is to expect otherwise.

I'm not saying everyone has to be optimistic, but some are acting as if there hasn't already been a lot of footage and trailers up to release, and a lot of the "problems" with the concept seem overblown to hell.

It should be terrible because it has the Rabbids. Rabbids in anything should make it terrible.
