What if you're unemployed and have no chance of ever replaying that? if it's a low amount and you can't pay then the hospital will prob work out a payment plan with you or see if you can qualify for medicaid. if it's a huge amount you'll probably have to declare bankrupcy and go through that whole process. i am by no means an expert on this in any way shape or form so someone else can probably better answer than me, but i think a lot of times it's not advantageous for a hospital to just bankrupt someone because they get nothing out of it. it's not like if you default on a home mortgage or car loan, where the bank can just take back your house or car; the hospital can't take back your heart surgery. so i think in this case a hospital would be more likely to get as much out of you through payment plans as they can rather than just hitting you with a 100k bill, bankrupting you, and getting nothing in return --- A Green Butter Alt http://i.imgur.com/LhwwG.gif ...
