Given the story posted in TC's picture--an inpatient hospitalization stay would have precluded the guy from selling his Jeep, meaning he physically had no capital to pay rent.

He'd be evicted, to which his Jeep would be the only shelter at that point. If he sold the Jeep, he'd still have to deal with bigger trouble finding a new place to rent to on short notice. The immediate problem of homelessness would make it difficult to hire a lawyer and be able to go through the motions to declade bankruptcy. Then your credit is completely shot + history of eviction would make securing rent at a new location an insurmountable challenge.

Dude was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm not surprised he tried waiting it out. When faced with homelessness, I'd imagine most people's threshold for what is a medical emergency to be pretty up there.

You won't get evicted for not paying your rent one time. And even if the landlord did threaten eviction, that takes time. Plus you can just refuse to leave and they can't force you out for some time(in Massachusetts you get 6 months of squatting before they actually force you out)

You're trying to reason with the unreasonable.

It's a waste of time at best, trying to convince them to be hospitable is worse.

Not sure why blame the guy. The systems in place led to this.
