In this day and age you can go to prison in some places for using the wrong gender pronouns when identifying people. I say we scrap them and replace them with gender neutral pronouns exclusively. It will make society better as a whole, standardize the system and we can stop wasting energy around the matter.

Nah, we should just accept what every other culture does and allow hypothetical people to be addresses as the masculine pronoun and not throw a fit about it because it's easier than developing new grammar rules or typing "his or her" every time you need to refer to a fake person.
