Umm, for that exact reason?

Obama had every right to pick a judge

It was a risky gamble that ultimately paid off. Merrick was a decent comprise, but Gorsuch is more ideal.

Had I been a congressman I would have pushed for Merrick, because if Hillary won and congress was also dominated by Democrats we would have had the second coming of Ginsburg.

I'm glad the way things ultimately turned out, but it's not a gamble I would have personally invested in.

They could of voted no. That would of been a better option than stalling for months.

Obama spent his entire presidency refusing to work with Republicans and telling them to fuck off. Then the 2016 election rolls around and he sees his party is in danger of losing and having his precious legacy undone, so he pretends like he's some great bipartisan leader by picking someone like Garland who's more palatable to Republicans. I'm glad the Republicans didn't fall for his bullshit and rejected his fake olive branch.

What difference does it make? Then they would have to justify why they said no.

Trump supporter revisionist history is always amusing

Pretending that the GOP's evil policies are only a reaction to the left is how many less than moral people justify their beliefs.

A system that requires opposing parties to be nice to each other in order to function is bad. This is what the Constitution allows; the Republicans were just smart enough to use it.
