Is this normal?

I smoked about a pack a day from when I was 17-22 then one day I quit cold turkey. I had bad cravings for a cigarette a week or 2 after quitting but that was it. Now I'm 26 and for the last week or so, I'm getting these bad cravings for a cigarette. I've even had dreams about smoking again.

Why all of the sudden? Has this happened to anyone else?

It's a mean habit. I remember my dad complaining about how he can smell someone smoking at a stop light two cars up 5 years into him going cold turkey.

He smoked for 20-30 years though

I'm actually almost exact same as you.

It is normal. I stopped smoking 4 years ago as well. After smoking from around the same age as you. It was a thing I picked up in college.

Anyways, for me I know I have certain triggers. Cold weather, late at night, when I'm depressed are all things that trigger em for me. I will say overall the cravings have subsided but every once in a while I still get an urge. For me their much shorter and less intense than when I first quit. But yeah I still get em from time to time.

Just white knuckle it as a best as u can, and it'll pass.

I guess the triggers make sense. I've been under an insane amount of stress lately, I guess that would explain it.

The only other time I crave cigarettes is after a huge meal. I'm not sure what it was about cigarettes, but having one after a big meal was always good.

Isn't it just stress making you crave something that you remember use to make you feel good/relaxed

Urge will always be there, especially if you are drinking. I quit about the same time you did, I smoked a pack and a half a day for 15 years or so.
