Amazing how they took time away from fondling Corey Taylor's balls to write this, anyway saying that underground metal is a breeding ground for Nazis and white supremacy is bullshit, underground metal is a place where EVERYONE is welcome regardless of gender, race, income, sexual preference, gender identity, or whatever else

Metal welcomes all, it doesn't matter what your race,ethnicity, gender, etc... if you're willing to show up and support the bands nobody cares about any of that and you're welcome.

I'm not wrong though, if you're willing to take some bumps in the pit, you'd be welcome at even the hardest of underground metal shows.

This is purely anecdotal, but one of my friends is as flamboyantly gay as can be and he comes with me all the time to hardcore metal shows and he's accepted like anybody else.

You know, except that Nazis have it coming.

Anyway, both Metal and Punk unfortunately have Nazi sub-genres so there is some base for it. Not all Metal is egalitarian. What makes it worse is that a lot of lyrics and songs, because they tend to focus on bloody parts of our history, are about Nazis or WW2, and I think that a lot of people misinterpret that as support.

How often are you out on tour hanging at other venues with other local scenes?

While I myself have not often, many of my close friends play in touring bands and they all say they same, except the crowd does get noticeably less diverse the further North you go.

Again, I'm not denying there are racist or Neo Nazi bands at all but like I already said it's ridiculous to attribute that to ALL underground venues and metal bands
