This should be a simple question, Idc if it ruins Hans character or whatever. Lucas retconned it so Greedo shot first, so that's considered the official canon right? I don't see how you could argue any other way

but in my heart it always "Han shot". not "shot first" because that implies greedo shot back.

yea in the canon but that's only because of a retcon.

but in the true media it was only han that shot. i think star wars is the most edited film. so many edits after the original came out.

I've always felt this is the dumbest nerd nitpick. It's not like Han looks that much better. He's still a drug smuggler (they can call it "spice" all they want).

Han shot first. Rebel propaganda eventually tried to change the story to say he was defending himself, even did a poor edit job of the security footage, but everyone that was there knows that he shot first.

it shows that Lucas doesn't even get why people like Han. He took away a defining trait from the character. The fact is that he didn't invent Star Wars on his own. The original trilogy had input from countless people. But later when he let it all go to his head, he took all the credit. You can tell that Han Solo wasn't really one of Lucas's creations. Cause he doesn't get it.

They should make a new cut where nobody shoots and they settle their differences with a rousing game of Stratego
