My entire life, people catching a cold during the summertime was a frigging rarity. This summer though at least 5 people in my inner circle have gotten sick in the last month or so. My girlfriend just caught a cold cuz everyone at her office is sick.

Wtf is this? Is everyone just really immunodeficient because they're stressed out from political bullshit?

cant explain it, did get sick on my birthday. had the illness for 2 weeks and another 2 weeks to rid of it. i kept coughing constantly and coughing up phlegm every morning.

i thought it was going to stay like that for the rest of my life (and it wasn't because of the elections).

Do you live in some crowded city like Hong Kong? Cause its fucking shit there if theres a flu outbreak.
And because HK isnt them countries who tax businesses 20%-50%, their health services cost money. I think they still have free health services but you have to wait like 3-5 hours.

So most people just stay at home. And some elderly actually die. Yes from flu.

But even the health services suck now in UK. They are still taxing us the same amount. But all these polish and east europeans come over to the country, we have to wait in a long ass queue for everything too.

Well, at least I know it's not just my neck of the woods in Texas.

Me, my brother, and my dad all caught the flu, with my dad's being bad enough that he ended up hospitalized, and in turn found out the reason *why* it knocked his ass out so much harder is because he might have lung cancer.

Bonus points: I live in New Caney, so I have to contend with the possibility of my power being knocked out due to the hurricane while being sick as hell and my dad being in the worst condition I've ever seen him in.

I live up in New York on Long Island. Not even a particularly crowded area, just the suburbs. It's really irritating though cuz I'm a hyper germophobe. Usually I can take the summer off, but the past few weeks nope, touching everything using my clothes, hand sanitizer, not breathing through my nose, etc...

Humidity is part of why people DON'T usually get sick during the Summer, so that has nothing to do with it.

It's going around. I blame two things:

1. People who don't sanitize their shopping carts or cover their mouth when they cough in the store

2. People who get flu shots are still carriers for these things

I feel like the American culture of working constantly is responsible for it too. People never take advantage of their sick days, so they go to work and infect everyone. But that's usually during cold season, I've never seen it bleed into the summer like this before.
