Is Sunday the first or last day of the week?

On a calendar, it's listed as the first day of each week. But Saturday and Sunday are considered to be "the weekend" which would make Sunday the last day of each week.

What do you think?

If that was the case, the entire week would be the weekend.

So does a movie, but that doesn't make the end the first scene in it.

Its listed as the first day on calendars, but I still can't help but think of monday as the start of the week, even when I've had jobs that have me work weekends.
