In your position, I would go to the church acknowledging your wrong. Once they reinstate your standing, you should again have the right to speak. Once you do, I would question why they didn't follow the established biblical procedure. If they couldn't answer this to my satisfaction, I would find a new house of worship. I realize that this is not the point of your original post, but you want your new partner to know that you take your religion seriously.
