I live out in the country with my mom and younger brother. Hughes Net is the only internet we have and it's $90 for 50gb plus an extra 50 between 2am to 8am. But it's shit, unreliable, cuts out in even a tiny drizzle of rain, and most vidya won't work.

Now we were gonna get Verizon Unlimited and a MyFi device and just use that for internet as well as phones since 4G comes in great here. But these new plans don't look as great. The Beyond Unlimited gives everyone their own 15gb which is ok I guess but it means the MyFi only gets that much before going to "up to 600kbs" which would probably suck. Plus there'd be no way to download vidya without destroying the data cap.

So what do you guys think? How reliable would that 600kbs end up being?

Fuck Hughes Net. The fucking data caps were a racket. You didn't get enough to do anything. It would take days of trying to download a psn game on my PlayStation and I must have spent hundreds of dollars just to connect to the internet I already paid for.

Fuck any company that has data caps.

if they have a 30 day guarantee try verizon for a month to see how bad that throttling is. it maybe better than hughes. (it has gone downhill ever since they added the cap) but the old plan allowed a certain amount of data per day with the unlimited free zone from a set time (thank god a life event turned things for the better to get out of the boonies) was finished on my contract by the time it happened.

Either way I just have one year until I finish nursing school and get out of shit city. It'll be a long year but it'll be worth it.
